More than 4,000 meal bundles to be donated to South Florida families in need.

MIAMI, Fla. (Nov. 25, 2019) – Miami-based Sedano’s Supermarkets, the leading independent Hispanic grocer in the United States, launches Sedano’s Tradition of Giving dedicated to supporting families in need across South Florida this holiday season. As part of this initiative, Sedano’s will donate more than 4,000 meal bundles to families associated with 11 local organizations. The meal bundles include a turkey, rice, beans, mashed potatoes, and canned goods to feed a family of four.
“We are honored to join forces with some of South Florida’s most respected organizations to support many of our neighbors in need this holiday season,” said Javier Herrán, chief marketing officer of Sedano’s Supermarkets. “It has become a tradition for us to give back to the community that we love and have called home for over 50 years,” he added.
Partner organizations include United Way of Miami-Dade, City of Hialeah, Miami-Dade County, City of Miami, San Vicente de Paul, Saborido Foundation, Westchester Chamber of Commerce, and the Neighborhood Enhancement Team. Donations will also complete the Thanksgiving Day meals of Camillus House and Lotus House.
Sedano’s Tradition of Giving will culminate with Sedano’s participation at CAMACOL’s 34th Annual Holiday Food Basket Drive on December 18, where 3,000 holiday meal bundles will be distributed to families in need – an initiative Sedano’s has supported for over 20 years.
