Hialeah, Fla.-based Sedano’s Supermarkets has opened a new flagship store–the grocer’s 31st location–in the Westchester area of Miami. To celebrate the Dec. 2 opening, Sedano’s is offering shoppers exclusive specials and will host a variety of store events through Dec. 13, including a 32-person domino tournament sponsored by Budweiser, in-store cooking demonstrations by IMUSA, a Miami Heat Xtreme team appearance, paellas, live music entertainment and in-store samplings. The largest independently owned, Hispanic supermarket chain in the United States, Sedano’s operates 30 other locations in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach counties, and employs 2,600 associates.
