31 moms joined the Marlins team on the field and one lucky mom threw out the first pitch.

MIAMI (May 16, 2018) — Sedano’s Supermarkets and the Miami Marlins joined forces this weekend to make Mother’s Day that much more special for a group of Miami moms. For one week in May, Sedano’s asked their customers to nominate their moms for the “Mom is our MVP giveaway.” The nomination form was simple: enter a name, home address, email, and select your Sedano’s store from a dropdown menu. A total of 200 moms entered the giveaway and  31 moms were selected — one for every Sedano’s store in Miami.
“Every year we work to make Mother’s Day an extra special holiday and really give back to all the hard-working women that have and continue to mold us,” said Javier Herran, Chief Marketing Officer for Sedano’s. “Since we are partnering with the Miami Marlins this year, we thought that joining forces for this occasion would make for a great treat.”
The prize included four game day tickets, a branded jersey, a gift basket, and the opportunity to join the Marlins on the field for the opening pitch at Sunday’s game. Each gift basket included a combination of Sedano’s and Marlins branded items, such as ingredients for a yummy Mother’s Day recipe and a $25 Sedano’s gift card.
Miriam Rodriguez, mother of two and loyal Sedano’s shopper, was selected to throw the first pitch at the Marlins vs. Atlanta Braves game. “I have been shopping at Sedano’s for years, so imagine my surprise when I found out my daughter had entered me in a giveaway and that I had won!” said Miriam. “I was such a thrilling experience to be able to join the other moms on the field and have the opportunity to throw the first pitch. It was an unforgettable Mother’s Day and definitely a story for the grandkids!”
