Thanks to the renewed efforts of a local grocery retailer and its partnership with Kissimmee city staff, about 100 families will be able to have a nice Thanksgiving dinner next week.
Sedano’s, like it did last year, provided families identified by the city as the most needy with all the fixings, including 12 to 14-pound turkeys, for a full holiday meal Monday at Kissimmee City Hall. City commissioners helped distribute the meals with the help of Sedano’s staff, who made sure to bring the turkeys a little later than last year to ensure they wouldn’t thaw in the oddly-humid November warmth late Monday morning.
