Miami-based Sedano’s Supermarkets, one of the leading independent grocers in the U.S., has partnered with Takeoff Technologies to launch the first robotic supermarket in the nation.
Sedanos in Miami now fills grocery orders in the new robotics supermarket. You buy your groceries online. The machines pack your groceries from bins. A person hauls it out to your car at a specified store at a specified location. Supermarkets are constantly evolving to keep up with technology.
Sedano’s teamed up with Takeoff Technologies to create what’s being called a micro-fulfillment center. The 10,000 square foot warehouse services 15 Sedano’s stores. Source: Local 10

Sedano’s is looking to change the shopping hassles for their customers as the robotic store prepares over 1500 items per hour – as a 60 item order can be completed in 5 minutes.
The term ‘robotic supermarket’ may seem like something out of science fiction, but in fact, it exists and is in operation in South Florida.
